Liberation is a subtraction process. It is through the loss of one's burdens, psychological or material, that one gains entry to a new phase of spiritual growth. This can be a painful process since we do not always wish to give up that which must be taken from us in order to truly liberate us.

Those of us who are strong enough to liberate our weaker brothers and sisters of their harmful burdens do so with a grave sense of responsibility, saddened by the immediate pain we may cause, but, like the surgeon who must cut in order to heal, driven by our mission to help others. 

As we fulfill our liberation responsibilities with a steady hand, the tears of joy in the faces of the liberated give us all the fuel we need to drive us all forward into a better future for humanity.
