Submissions 2005 Bonk FestivalThe Bonk Festival of New Music welcomes submissions of non-mainstream music for programming consideration, particularly from composers whose work makes use of electronics and computer technology. Strong preference in programming decisions is given to works by composers who can attend the festival as active participants and whose interests and abilities complement those of the existing core of festival artists. Participating composer/performers travel at their own expense, though we are happy to provide letters of support to facilitate outside travel funding. The 14th annual Bonk Festival of New Music will take place early in March, 2005. Although final program information will not become available until January, 2005, a preliminary schedule of concert dates/locations should be available in late summer (2004), and the works to be presented will be posted at the Bonk website in early December, 2004. Guidelines, Application and DeadlinePlease read the following guidelines and other information carefully before preparing a submission to the 2005 Bonk Festival. Submissions of works must include:
Materials must be received no later than September 30th, 2004, regardless of postmark date. For submissions by performers, include vita, repertoire list and CD of one or two representative performances. At this time, we are accepting performer submissions for the 2006 festival, to be postmarked no later than October 31st, 2004. You may also submit single works on behalf of a composer for the 2005 festival, following the guidelines above. Those interested in submitting scores and/or recordings for consideration in 2005 may send them to: Bonk Festival of New Music *NOTE: If the proposed composition is NOT one that you plan to perform yourself, please keep in mind our current available instrumentation. This list is subject to change, and additional instruments are possible but cannot be guaranteed: tape (DAT or CD), piano(s) and other keyboards, percussion, percussion ensemble, flute/piccolo, clarinet/bass clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, violin. We are especially interested for 2005 in works featuring flute, chamber chorus, or trumpet/trombone duo (with or without piano or other keyboard instrument). |
